Restoring Nature, Removing Carbon, Renewing the Future
We’re not just slowing climate change. We’re reversing it. By removing carbon dioxide through nature-based solutions, we’re building the regenerative economy our planet needs.
Our Mission: Doubling Nature
We remove 1500 gigatons of CO2 by doubling nature
To address the climate crisis, we need to remove 1,500 gigatons of CO₂: roughly the amount that Earth’s plants and trees already contain today. In other words, we need to double nature.
We work to reverse climate change by advancing nature-based carbon dioxide removal (Nature-based CDR) and by creating the systemic conditions that allow entrepreneurial people – and all forms of life – to thrive in a regenerative society, with a nature-based economy.
Natural Climate Solutions can deliver over 30% of the climate solution, yet they receive less than 3% of global funding. We work to close this gap by creating an environment where entrepreneurial people and all of life can thrive.

Our Strategy
Climate Cleanup actively advances research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) for natural carbon removal. The potential of nature-based solutions is enormous, yet still largely untapped. That’s why we work both in the field and through our Natural Climate Solutions Lab, where we develop and test practical methods for returning carbon to natural systems.
What we do:
- pioneering scalable solutions like seaweed, rock weathering, bamboo and agroforestry
- fostering the fundamental conditions for distributed growth
- shaping and sharing images of the new nature economy
