Hello everyone!

I’m Jelle de Bijl, and I’m thrilled to join the Construction Stored Carbon team at Climate Cleanup Foundation. As a recent graduate with a degree in Forest and Nature Management from Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein, specializing in international timber trade, I bring a unique perspective to our mission of carbon sequestration in the built environment.

My academic background, combined with practical experience in wood science and technology from my time at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, has equipped me with a solid understanding of sustainable forestry practices and innovative wood applications.

During my internship at Woody Building Concepts, I conducted research on CO2 calculation methods for buildings and provided sustainability advice, which I believe will be valuable in our efforts to maximise carbon storage in construction.

With my passion for environmental conservation, problem-solving skills, and eagerness to learn, I’m excited to contribute to our team’s goals and make a positive impact on climate change mitigation through sustainable construction practices. Looking forward to working with you!
