On May 15th, Carbon Farmers‘ Lars Hillewaere is committing to a crazy project: he will run 100 km along the entire shoreline of Belgium, his home country. With this act on the International Day of the North Sea, he wants to raise awareness for our oceans and their precious biodiversity. That’s why he’s also raising funds for Go Ocean, a Flemish start-up implementing projects to bring life back to the seas and oceans around the world.
End goal for the fundraiser is €4.235, the amount needed to sponsor an ‘eco block’ in the port of Blankenberge, which Lars will run past on May 15th. These blocks serve as habitat for all kinds of marine life; with them, Go Ocean hopes to bring life back to the port.
Do you want to help fund ecosystem restoration in the (North) Sea and give Lars some moral support in his athletic endeavour? Then you can donate through: GoFundMe.
